Modifying Numbering Schemes

Numbering schemes can be modified. In the following example, the Characteristic Numbering Scheme is modified.

1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
3. In the System Wide section, click Numbering Scheme.
   Result: All available numbering schemes are displayed in the Numbering Schemes window.
4. Select the checkbox for the SS_CHARACTERISTIC_Numbering_Scheme.
5. Click Action > Edit.
   Result: The Numbering Scheme entry window is displayed.
6. Edit the numbering scheme information.

NOTE: Do not change the scheme code. Make sure to use the { } character when identifying your number format or you will receive system errors when attempting to save your record.

7. Click the Save button.
   Result: The modified numbering scheme is now displayed.
